Here are some of the reasons making QuickRedact unique:
- State-of-the-art, robust face detection. Automatically detects any face in your photos. Yes, even hundreds.
- Multiple photo support. You can import as many photos as you like and have them processed all at once.
- Advanced customization options. Add Emojis, Blur, Pixellation or Shape effects to faces. You can even mix and edit them for each face separately.
- Lightning fast on-device image processing. Get realtime previews of the final results, thanks to your device's GPU, Neural Engine & Metal. What you see is truly what you get.
- Completely offline. No network connection required. Your device is perfectly capable for this job, so NOTHING is ever transmitted to internet.
- Privacy first. As a privacy-focused app, automatically makes sure that ALL metadata is removed from the edited photos, including location, camera information, filenames etc.
- No tracking / analytics services. Nothing... just an app that is focused on a single task.
- Crystal clear pricing. No subscriptions, in-app purchases or any hidden fees. Just one time purchase for all your devices, forever.
- Share Extension. You can easily import any photos to QuickRedact from any app.

Hey Vasilis and congrats on the launch! As a content creator, I have noticed a trend among my colleagues that they are stopping filming stories, reels, and TikToks in crowded places. You won't believe why! Users in the comments have become actively hateful towards content creators for posting videos without asking permission from those who appear in the video 🙈The problem is that if I film myself in a cafe, for example, sitting with a friend and drinking coffee, I simply cannot approach everyone who even slightly appears in the frame and ask for permission. Potentially, your product could be a solution. On the other hand, from an aesthetic point of view, it won't look very nice - a video with people in the background whose faces are blurred. What do you think?
@anka_lumos Hey Anna! Thanks for the comment. You’re absolutely right. This is a problem both for people filming in public places and people that appear in videos unwittingly. QuickRedact cannot process videos yet, it’s quite complex to get it right, but I’m already working on a version that could do that. Sure, blurred faces might be undesired in some types of videos but maybe an option that would automatically adjust the focus (something like Apple’s Portrait Mode) could be a good solution.
I really like how you automated this task of hiding faces when you want to post Instagram reels congratulating someone of their birthday but it's a group photo so it will be boring to go hide each face with an emoji or in diff occasions...
