Quadrant Eye

Hello PH fam! We’re Quinn (an ophthalmologist) and Kristine (a software engineer,) the founders of Quadrant Eye. We’re building an online eye exam to save people time, money and grief. We’re making it easy and affordable ($30) to renew your glasses +/- contact lens prescriptions from your couch! 💛 Why We’re Doing It Quinn started building Quadrant Eye after caring for Bill, a sweet grandpa who went blind in one eye because he was too scared to leave home during shelter-in-place. Covid or not, Bill could easily be your grandparent, your uncle in rural Nebraska, or your friend who hates going to the doctor. We’re holding Bill's story in our hearts as we continue to make our online eye exam better and better. Our greatest wish is to provide everyone access to portable, high-quality eye care. ---------- ⭐️ Where We’re Going We invite you to imagine a future free of frequent dilated exams and air puff 💨👁 tests (which, BTW, are wildly inaccurate.) Moving forward, we hope to: > 🏥🚗 Eliminate annual in-person eye exams for healthy adults whose eye care needs are limited to simple corrective eyewear. Of the 150 million people who wear glasses and contacts in the US, the vast majority do not need to go in routinely. We’re building a smarter way to redistribute patient and provider time, resources and mental bandwidth. > 👁💛 Provide eye care for at-risk adults and remotely detect silent and treatable eye diseases. Our online eye exam is a small step toward bringing eye care to the 47 million Americans who are constrained by geography, mobility and/or insurance. ---------- Thanks so much for reading! Congrats on the launch @drkillakwinn & @kristine_hara! I renewed my prescription in person a couple months ago and definitely would've preferred to use QE instead! Do you plan on partnering with glasses companies or making your own glasses in the future?
