@bgiesing39 Hey Brandon - they do indeed do some very similar and are predominately app focused. Qlk.to allows for much finer granularity of device selection as well as redirection (at least I think so!). Have you had a chance to compare the two?
Hey all,
Tom here, CEO/Founder of Qlk.to. Thanks for checking us out! After working for a number of years in the mobile space, I saw numerous instances where companies would share multiple links and asked their users to click on the right one. To me this always seemed strange. Shouldn't we simplify things for users? What if they don't know which link is best for them? Out of that came the idea of Qlk.to, to allow someone to specify with fine granularity what devices should see what content. Even today it's standard practice to offer different buttons for downloading apps (AppStore, Google Play, Windows Phone Marketplace). Why not just give users one button that says "Download App" and let us figure out where they should go?
Your feedback and suggestions are more than welcome, and i'll try my best to keep up and reply. Looking forward to hearing from you!
Cheers,
Tom
Just a quick addition. For all Product Hunters who register, use the voucher code PRODUCT50 to receive 50% off your first month (at any tier!). If you've already registered - the code has already been applied to your account.
@h_halvi Hi Harsha - some of this can be hacked in hours, such as the tiny URL generation. Other bits definitely took a lot longer to build. Plus there's third party APIs and hosting to pay for. I've tried to make the pricing scale nicely for entry people up to large corporates (of which a couple are already using the service). Which prices exactly were the ones that turned you off?
@tomfin55 I am sure you can use something like DNsimple and offer custom tiny URL's from the start. I would love to pay about 5-10$ and hits along with campaigns are not really good. I agree that analytics , redirection and all are complicated. But daily limits and campaign limit turned me off.
@h_halvi This is good feedback. I don't think I can get away with no hit limits and no campaign limits. But what about something where you could choose? For example get more daily hits but less campaigns, or more campaigns, but less hits? My main concern (which may turn out to be invalid) is abuse in the sense that the server capacity for lower tiers is more costly than what they bring in.
