Interesting... This used to be called just "Vessyl" and would track not only water but all types of liquids you drank by automatically detecting what was in the "vessyl".
I had two on pre-order from well over a year and a half ago and recently cancelled it due to the lack of status updates - glad I did as it seems they had to change direction for one reason or another.
@joshuapinter They're still working on Vessyl but introduced this in the meantime. Offered it for free to every Vessyl backer in addition to the Vessyl they will get when it's done.
@joshuapinter@arintoker Sorry for the delays on Vessyl. We know it's frustrating, but we refuse to put product out that doesn't meet the levels of accuracy and reliability to get people healthier. We'll continue to improve on Vessyl. You should try Pryme though, it might surprise you.
@joshuapinter It's actually a little braver than that.... they havent delivered the first one yet (multiple delays) but sent a thing out to all the backers saying they could upgrade (but it would cancel their original and they wouldnt be able to cancel this upgrade if they want to later).
Im not sure sending a thing to your backers you havent delivered to yet on the same day as announcing a delay asking them to back a better version of something you havent released yet is.... wise.
@evilspyboy Hmm... @KevinA says that they are giving this Pryme Vessyl away for free to backers of the original Vessyl, not asking them to back this one as well.
Fascinating. I pre-ordered a Hidrate smart water bottle (https://www.producthunt.com/tech...) earlier this year, hadn't even heard of Pryme Vessyl. Looks like it's already shipping and even sold in the Apple Store?
This video is strange.
@thetylerhayes I love that you called the video "strange". :-)
We want to challenge people's current perception of hydration. So if you leave the video asking "is water really that important?" or "do doctors really need to be at their 'pryme' for surgery?" The true answer is "yes", even though some folks might think of it as overly dramatic.
@nichbarnes@thetylerhayes Cool. I actually didn't leave the video wondering that though. Like I mentioned I bought a Hidrate, so I'm totally in on the concept.
Let me add some color: the tone is weird, the music is wrong, the story feels forced. It's like the uncanny valley of product videos.
Anyway, I like the concept. GLHF!
I cancelled mine as well and went with HidrateMe now called HidrateSpark. I think they are semi-pivoting even though they claim to still be working on the original project Vessyl. But I lost interested after months and months of no updates they basically took the Kickstarter money and never delivered. It's become a trend lately!
