These days it's hard to find innovative open-source projects to use, and just as hard to get exposure/contributors for your own project. Proxim solves both problems at once to form a community that fosters open-source development.
Hey everyone 👋, I'm Justin, the creator of Proxim.
A large source of frustration I had when working on my own open-source projects was the lack of resources to get attention and/or contributors. Some might stumble across them accidentally, but there was no established platform for growing my project.
With Proxim I aim to provide a solution for this issue by creating a community where developers can not only find and contribute to open-source technology, but also post their own projects and gain exposure.
As time goes on I plan to expand the features and improve the UX of Proxim, so expect to hear more about Proxim in the future
Feel free to ask questions or provide feedback in the comments, I would love to hear what the PH community thinks of Proxim.
Good stuff, Justin.
Do reachout to open-source communities on Slack or Discord, asking them to register.
The first few projects would take time, but once done, the rest would follow.
Also, make sure the contributor roadmap is always marked in the listing. This way, maintainers would find you, not the other way around.
My experience with Aviyel, if you can't find value that can move the adoption within the developer community, it would be hard to make the product to exists.
Also, reachout to Dev Rels for promotion, run discord community to engagement and run Twitter spaces to promote.
Good luck to you @jbuilds
@evan_paul Thanks so much for the feedback Evan,
I will definitely look to promote Proxim on other open-source platforms/communities and I've already started running a Twitter account (@ProximDev).
Glad you like Proxim.
