@mextremartini I guess to start a typical usecase could be; keywords the base standard of search, but maybe display categories that have large enough content (nothing worse than selecting a category and getting zero threads) One might also want to look at some programmatic logic of interests based on some user variable (social, cookie other). All just ideas.
@sbrands I feel like search is not at the core of the product, but curation. Every day it sends me the best products and articles of the day.
Also somehow, they are in the same category → Technology. I use this as a broad overview of what's going on in the tech world. And sometimes getting a general view is great! (You never know how ideas might connect)
Anyway, regardless of what I said above, your feedback is noted. And if enough people want this perhaps I can build it! :)
Hey PH!
Every day I browse ProductHunt and HackerNews to keep up with the industry. I spend a lot of energy looking for the most interesting products and articles of the day, so I wanted a curated service. Something free, delivered to me every day. That's why I built this newsletter! 📬
Technology-wise it runs a cron job every day at midnight that scrapes rankings with pupperteer.js. After that, It builds the newsletter automatically and sends it through the buttondown API.
Hope you like it! ✌️
How do I know you're not going to use my email for other purposes? (there's nothing written about privacy on your page) Also, a "preview" of the newsletter would be cool to see before subscribing.
@baidoct You're right! I should have mentioned about privacy somewhere (will address your concern on the FAQ later).
I basically built this for myself and decided to launch it here. The email is not gonna be used for anything other than this newsletter. And the "Latest Issue" should act as a preview on how the newsletter is like (It's still quite barebones and if you have ideas on how to make it better - DM me)
Also, you can always unsubscribe whenever you like. ✌️
