There aren't enough public restrooms in New York City! I wanted a map that would show me the nearest restrooms, as well as the door codes, but none of the existing solutions quite matched what I had in mind. To fix these issues, I created a mobile-first web app which uses device location data and business hours from Google Maps to show users the most relevant options immediately on launch. Anyone can tap on a business that is not already marked and add it to the map or update the door code on an existing location if it is out of date. You can check out privy here: https://privy.nyc. If you are on desktop, you will be able to see all of the locations in the city. Mobile users simply see the ten closest currently open locations. Let me know what you think! If you are in NYC, I encourage you to check it out and share it with your friends!

I'm from Germany where this system of door codes doesn't exist - you just ask politely and most stores let you use their restroom haha. But from my travels to the US I feel like I would use this app. Congrats on the idea and the launch, I hope this becomes a thing!
