Preki is a B2B wholesale marketplace in Latam, where retailers can source goods through a mobile app and direct vendor links. Their mission is to help both retailers and vendors grow their businesses and offer them the tools necessary to do just that.
Hey Product Hunters!
Pedro here (Co-Founder & CEO @Preki) alongside Alex, David and Tahi. We like to think of ourselves as hustlers and we're not afraid to get our hands dirty. As a team we have experience as executives at previous startups and top-notch engineering talent. Oh, we're also all Colombians and we love bringing innovation to our region and home country.
Preki was born after seeing how independent retailers in Colombia had to travel in order to source inventory, wait up to 45 days for a sales rep to visit them, call or WhatsApp each vendor in order to make an order and have high minimum order requirements. With Preki retailers can buy as they sell with low minimum orders, 24/7 ordering (whenever, wherever), one payment for multiple vendors, and access to net terms (right now our niche is independent beauty retailers).
Our main goal is help retailers and wholesalers grow their businesses and offer them the tech solutions necessary to do just that. Happy to hop on a call and chat about this exciting space. If anybody just wants to hang out and talk tech in LatAm we're more than happy to do just that.
Hope you like it and appreciate any feedback - heck, you can always make your product better.
@kristine_hara Hey Kristine, that was exactly our one-liner! However, LatAm is a little different than in the US, so we had to tweak it a little, but we keep the essence. If you want to know more about how are we different from Faire, let us know.
I'm really like it, good luck Freki, but I have a question for about product, will buyers unite and shop from a seller to fulfill the min order requirement.
@kdrnp Hey Kadir, great question. No, we have managed to have low minimum orders for each seller. However, that is a great suggestion for group buying which might create added discounts (aggregate purchasing power from various retailers = higher bulk purchases which = more savings).
@pedro_virguez I have been working on this issue for a long time. I think that the retailer should make collective purchases in order to reach the product more cheaper. Minimum orders are not the right way to buy cheap in my opinion. If you are thinking of such an iteration, I would like to contact you and share the documents I have collected with you. Good luck again Pedro.
@kdrnp 100% agree with you. For now it was just faster to lower min orders while maintaining wholesale prices in order for retailers to buy as they sell. Definitely something we have on our product roadmap though. Yes, that would be awesome, just DM anytime on LinkedIn and we can connect!
