Hi everyone, My name is Robin and I am currently a CS student from Paris, France 🇫🇷. I am passioned by app development and when Apple announced the release of the CoreML technology, I wanted to try it out in a new app. So here we are, I recently launched Polyword! 🚀 Polyword is an application that allows you to translate objects names between two languages by simply taking pictures of them. The application will first detect the object, before translating it into the selected languages! I though that this application could be very useful when going abroad, and that it could also be a funny and intuitive way to learn some vocabulary in different languages. 🌍 This project is also open source, so feel free to look at how I made my app and make your own version of this app here: https://github.com/Binb1/Polyword I hope you will like Polyword 😊!

@robin_champsaur woah this is great! What was the most difficult thing for you during the creation of Polyworld? Are there any items that are still not recognized?

@3raxton Thanks! I think that the most difficult part in building this app was translating words in different languages. To do so, I used the Microsoft Text Translator API and as I was discovering the API and the explanations on how to use it were not always very clear, I struggled a bit. (But it is a great API once you get used to it!) Some very specific items might not be recognised, the ResNet50 ML model is used in the app, you can learn more about it here: https://www.pyimagesearch.com/20... The machine learning part was really simple and fun to implement thanks to Apple new CoreML (https://developer.apple.com/mach...) technology!
