Your passwords only on your pocket. Pocket Pass Manager is an offline alternative to password managers that sync your most sensible data across the internet. With this app, no password leaves your device ever.
Hi everyone! This is the first time I post in Product Hunt, so be patient with me as I butcher probably thousands of conventions.
Pocket Pass Manager is an interesting password manager, that is really fun to produce, I hope you find it as fun to use as my family and fiends do, if not feel free to tell me why I will try to address that (if makes sense, if you want a walkie talkie in the app I will ignore you...).
Some of the features are only available under the TestFlight beta link (as the Authenticator widget), but I plan to release as soon as I can, the app is ready, but all the promotional stuff takes way too much time.
I started working on this empty sector (I almost haven't head about other password managers at all...), because LastPass decided to change all their free users to a paid plan after promising during years no payment was needed. Yep, I started on this because of them, even before they compromised hundreds of thousands of vaults...
Back to the story, I thought that wasn't that hard to do, and probably you could build something that didn't servers (to force myself not to require subscriptions -> no operational costs). So I started coding my own as a fun exercise, and... The first version was awful! But I could use it, what was cool. More importantly proved that my approach to create a server-less password manager that also allowed you to access passwords on other devices could work.
If you are curious, the app creates a web server (serves a web page) that you can access on your local network to access your passwords, everything is encrypted in the transmission of course. Works like magic, it's a fun party trick.
And then as I got more frustrated with my password manager I started improving it, and used it as an exercise to code and design. As I included friends to the beta, they told me to upload it to the App Store, and I did.
It takes very few downloads (I don't really advertise), but is quite cool to see a payment for the app from time to time, that means random people enjoy it!
Thats all, most things about security and that stuff is on the app store page, as well as in the settings in the app.
Feel free to write to me, remember this is a hobby so don't be to harsh with me on missing functionality multimillion dollar companies have... BUT, we do have a mascot, and they don't. Value right there bom!
Woah, this feels VERY polished for a first launch and solo (maybe) maker! Amazing branding, great images, nice bento.
Even the landing page feels like a well funded company haha.
Small feedback on landing - I wasn't quite sure how this works day-to-day when I left the landing page. Maybe a gif of it logging into an app, or in use, could help potential users convert?
Congrats on your launch, hoping you see huge success with this. ⚡️
@esus Thanks a lot for the feedback, glad you see my baby beautiful also! I do like to build polished stuff, in the end just takes just a little bit more work.
Uhmmm that's really good feedback, what do you think is important to see in the landing? For example, do you think the password access from other devices is a thing that should be there in the video?
BTW, a cool thing that might help people on PH, all the App screenshots are automated (not the bento though), so I can build them for every language without being a colossal task in Photoshop. If anyone wants to know how I do it, write a comment or write me a message anywhere.
