Hi Product Hunt! Pedro here from Hal9, the creators of Pixsso 🔲 —an eInk frame that brings AI-generated art to your space.
Unlike typical eInk displays, Pixsso features interactive buttons that let you choose the content you love. Simply press a button to shuffle through our gallery of "AI artists" and explore fresh images every day.
Instead of simply just calling a Stable Diffusion model for random content, each "AI artist" is a multi-agent system that generates images based on unique data and behaviors. For example, one artist might paint cities in a specific style using real-time weather—if it's raining there, the image will reflect that. Another artist could turn real-world news into cartoons, while another might remix pop culture into stunning visuals.
Of course, we are using the terms "art" and "artist" lightly. Our goal is to create a digital minimalist experience that sparks the exploration of our relationship with new technologies, particularly AI. We are big fans of the profound role that Art and Artists play in society, way beyond "image generation".
🚀 Open Source & Pre-orders
We've open-sourced Pixsso’s hardware so anyone can build their own! It’s based on Waveshare’s 7.5" monochrome eInk display, the ESP32 microcontroller, and a 2000mAh battery, with custom 3D-printed and laser-cut parts. You can DIY or pre-order a fully assembled frame at pixsso.com —shipping starts in April.

Pixsso will always offer free daily content—no subscription required. However, since image generation is resource-intensive, each Pixsso Frame comes with a one-year subscription for access to multiple AI artists and more generative content.
