Motivated by the rising tumult in our political system, Phone Your Rep started as a simple idea: why isn't there an easy way to get your elected officials' contact information? After reading about the effectiveness of calling your reps' district offices, a group of ProgCode members set about to build a simple, lightweight widget that takes a user's address and returns download links to contact information for both the DC AND State-level offices for Senators and the Congressional Rep closest to that address.
ProgCode takes a firm stance on not taking any ownership of the apps in its care, instead acting as an incubator and support network for an app's organic growth, acting as a pipeline for volunteer action while allowing the CONTRIBUTORS to take ownership of the project.
