With People Not Platforms you can create a profile that captures your online presence and start sharing it within minutes. Your profile is kind of like an internet contact card that can be shared and embedded anywhere on the web.
I got the idea for this app when I received the first newsletter email from a music artist I really liked. It contained a row of social media icons which linked to their various profiles and it struck me how laborious it seemed to have to go to each site individually and follow the person on each site, I couldn't really be bothered! I set out to build People Not Platforms to solve this. I've not done that yet but I think this early iteration still offers a nice way to capture one's online presence.
Hi @chrismessina 👋 to be honest I wasn't even aware of Link In Bio apps but I can see how mine would fall into that category, thank you very much for collection you've curated, it's really helpful to see what others are doing 😉
From a quick glance I think the main difference is where this app is going. The killer feature I eventually want to ship is the ability to follow someone on all their platforms in a single click rather than having to visit each one in turn. This would most likely be achieved by the user connecting various accounts with OAuth. What I have right now is just a stepping stone on that path 🙂
I noticed some of you experienced errors when creating your profiles yesterday, sorry about that! Just some initial teething pains that have now been resolved. Thank you all for your interest in People Not Platforms ✌️
