Hey PH, Osa from ParrotMob here. ParrotMob’s Conversational Commerce Platform enables one-to-one customer experiences for DTC brands - all powered by SMS. Our product drives mobile revenue growth with 1 click Pay by Text, Product Recommendations, and personalized customer engagement. DTC brands are struggling to find an optimal way to engage with their customers. I created ParrotMob to not only help business owners optimize their customers’ digital shopping experience but to also build a platform that helps consumers shop on mobile more easily. The last time I was on Product Hunt, I was leading engineering on Landing Pages in MailChimp. As an immigrant from Nigeria working in big tech, I was living an American dream, but not my own. Interesting! I know SMS can sometimes be a bit tricky security-wise, my bank got hacked through SMS, would you have any concerns about that with Parrot? Love the idea!

@aaronoleary Great question. We take security seriously at ParrotMob. We work closely with our partners at Twilio and Stripe to ensure that we are following best practices. With regards to bank accounts: according to our research, those attacks occur when folks get a text message that they believe is from their bank and provide information to attackers. To counter that scenario, all payments to ParrotMob are initiated using your own phone. Put simply, you have to send us a text from your physical number to initiate or complete a transaction. Moreover, we ensure that we encrypt and secure any data we store so that an attacker cannot pretend to be a brand trying to sell you something. Our approach does not completely mitigate issues like SIM swapping where the phone network is compromised. To address that we're working with Twilio and the carriers to ensure that we are following best practices.
