Paco sniffs out important asks hidden beneath heaps of Slack conversations and reminds you about them at an appropriate time. It follows up with your colleagues automatically, freeing you up to tackle things that need your undivided attention.
Howdy Hunters,
Thank you @kevin for hunting Paco!
We love Slack - how lively and interactive it makes our virtual workplaces. But sometimes it becomes too much of a good thing. The constant chatter can interrupt our ability to do focused work. For some of us makers, it causes constant anxiety that something important might slip through the cracks. We created Paco to bring some calm focus back into our lovely Slack lives.
We have been building Paco with a group of amazing early adopters over the past couple of months, and are now ready to share it with you all.
Here is how it works:
🐶 Single-Player Mode
Hit 'Add to Paco' from the actions menu for any message that you want to track. Paco will consolidate it into a single queue that you can process anytime you want. It will also send you a daily reminder about it at a time of your choosing.
🧑🏽🤝🧑🏼 Team Mode
Add Paco to any team channel and watch it automatically detect messages that may need to be followed upon.
Or you can mention @paco in any message and it will create a thread to follow up on it.
✅ Paco Queue
Paco queue gives you peace of mind that you won't miss anything important. You can access the queue anytime within Slack using the /paco-track command, get a daily reminder, or access it on the web app.
We want Paco to become that trusty sidekick that makes you more effective, giving you more time to do epic things. It is learning new tricks fast. e.g. Coming soon -- a deep work mode where it saves you from all the 'quick questions', a dedicated queue for pull reminders and pending Jira tickers, and more.
Give it a try and let us know what you think!
p.s. We learnt today that we are featured as a 'New & Noteworthy' app by the Slack App Directory team. The timing couldn't be better.
@kevin@paco@arraysum Great product! Helps me get stuff out of my head and into a system that works. Having that system in slack is life-changing (hate having to set these reminders in Asana or my calendar). Congrats 🚀
@kevin@paco@arraysum@eugenehp that would be such a great feature. I do get the same queries lot of time. Can this work even when i’m offline ? Always great to have a proxy :)
It is great to see a product that actually focuses on improving engineering productivity rather than just show some stats. This can be a really powerful tool for our teams @ LinkedIn. Especially love that developers can start using it on day 1 rather than waiting for a long drawn corporate approval process. Would love to know more about how you guys think about ensuring data privacy as Paco scales and becomes viral?
@hawk_eye That's a great point - we use Google's Cloud Platform for our servers and databases. So all data is encrypted at rest and in motion. We take privacy very seriously, so we have access controls with limited admin access. Every message flowing through Paco is encrypted and Paco only tracks the messages where it's marked. In terms of security, we are working on getting third party tests and certifications to ensure peace of mind for our valued customers.
@officialexaking Ha ha the idea of Paco coin is compelling though. I hear that there is a quick buck to be made from the hustle. Jokes apart, Jim -- would love to hear your feedback as you try it
