Rather than respect and empathy, it’s followers and likes that take centre stage when it comes to social currency nowadays. Especially younger age groups are pulled in the midst of a social competition that nobody ever asked for or wants to compete in. We are made to interact with each other, not perform in front of each other. We do not have to consume content on the same platforms where we are being social. Our vision is to create a world where technology aids rather than hinders. The OPEN experience is very intimate and at the same time completely anonymous. As an audio-only app, we consciously refrain from visual stimuli and mechanisms, which excessive consumption of has increasingly been shown to affect our mental health. Compared to all other beings, humans have the ability to speak. So why do we constantly try and do without it?
