Hi Product Hunt! 👋
I’m Michael and I’m CEO of OneChannel. We’re super excited to be here to introduce OneChannel today! (https://onechannel.one/)
The whole story
Streaming services can be expensive. But you don't want to miss out on those shows and movies everyone is talking about.
The truth of the matter is that there are lots of people with streaming service subscription slots they’re not using. The good news is that it’s legal for people to share these slots. The bad news is that it’s hard to find people with whom to share without investing a lot of time and effort.
What are the main benefits of using OneChannel?
Major savings on the top streaming services (up to 40 USD / month).
Automated process for matching admins and users.
No need to memorize passwords — OneChannel manages everything for you.
You receive your own private slot for each subscription service. Your slot has its own personalized recommendations system, and your viewing history is protected via PIN code.
Password protection — all passwords are encrypted and automatically updated every six hours.
What makes us stand out from similar service providers?
There are several similar services, such as Spliiiit, TogetherPrice, Keyring, Splitsub, Jam, etc. Let’s take a look at what makes OneChannel different:
Hassle-free experience — simply download and set up the app, sign up for the free trial, and start watching right away! The proprietary algorithm automatically matches you with other users to split the subscription costs, saving you time and effort from having to do so manually.
The app is available for smartphones and tablets right now, and we are currently developing a tvOS version as well. Stay tuned!
An extra layer of security — access to services is controlled through the autofill function on users’ phones, and not through cookies. Users are not required to manage the system — log-in credentials are stored on our database, encrypted, and reset every six hours.
Is shared access to streaming services legal?
This is a common question when it comes to this kind of service.
Many subscription plans for streaming services provide users with multiple ‘slots’, so they can watch on more than one device through the same account. Users are allowed to share these ‘slots’ with others and split the subscription costs with them.
OneChannel serves merely to facilitate this process and make it more secure. The app connects users online, so they can split the subscription costs without needing to directly communicate with each other. It also serves as a password manager, so that users don’t need to share or remember passwords to log in to the streaming services.
If you have any questions, feel free to get in contact with us. We’re happy to help!
