What do you think? …

Titus Decali
I'm currently using Ulysses (although I HATE their business model). What would you say about Omniawrite that could convince me to switch writing apps?
Torsten Dittmann
@titusdecali Of course Ulysses is much more extensive and stable at this time. The advantage of OmniaWrite over Ulysses is true cross-platform compatibility. It runs on every computer and smartphone, regardless of manufacturer and operating system. But since you are currently using Ulysses, i.e. working with Apple devices, I cannot recommend a switch to OmniaWrite yet, as our iOS app is not yet released. If you are exclusively in the Apple ecosystem, I don't think there is a better alternative than Ulysses. Only their business model is a bit heavy. OmniaWrite will always remain free in the end. Only the Cloud Synchronization will be in the 1-2 $ range monthly (~15 $ per year) after the beta.

I just use iBooks author and pages is not that bad, as Titus mentioned would love to hear your case about switching

@torstendittmann that was for Ulysses , got about for iBooks Author or Pages
Torsten Dittmann
@edisonjoao6871 Ah okay, let's see. Both programs are part of the Apple world. As stated above, if you own exclusive Apple equipment, I would go with Ulysses. I remember Pages for mobile devices as a very cunning experience. Especially with larger files. So if writing on mobile devices is important to you, OmniaWrite offers the better solution. As said above, not for iOS devices at the moment. Though Pages or Microsoft Word as example are the most commonly used writing platforms, they are only suitable to a limited extent, due to their lack of planning and support solutions for authors. In contrast to Pages, OmniaWrite does not have a “document” that contains the entire text; instead, a text consists of the individual chapters and scenes. These individual texts are then put together during export. This strict division of the text into individual fragments requires a certain familiarization from the user. However, once you have familiarized yourself with this method, you are able to navigate much more fluidly through the document. Anyone who has ever worked with a Word document hundreds of pages long should appreciate this advantage. Unfortunately I have never worked with iBooks Author, so I cannot say much about this topic.

@torstendittmann Torsten, thank you for your thorough answer and I truly appreciate it. It's good to know your perspective as someone that has a product and is able to offer an unbiased view. I actually really dislike Ulyssess even though I own just Apple Devices so I'm always looking forward to alternatives and will try yours out. I love your feature of individual chapters and scenes.
