As a technology lover, I have always felt a rush whenever a mundane experience suddenly becomes frictionless and intuitive. Do you remember the first time you didn’t have to pull the key out of your pocket to open the door to your car? If you were carrying stuff in both your hands, I am sure it must have been a techno-climactic experience ☺. 🚀 The Oloid team is thrilled to share our exciting new product, the M-Tag. The Oloid M-Tag unites connectivity, mobility & smart hardware; enabling frictionless entry into your physical workplace. Do you recall that dreaded feeling of being stuck at the office door, only to realize that you’ve either lost the badge or have left it behind at home? Enter, the M-Tag (short for mobile tag)! The M-Tag is a cost efficient hardware device that empowers you to open your existing office doors with a mobile app or (in future) with a wallet credential on your phone. M-Tag comes with a battery-powered patent-pending smart hardware which can emulate the action of swiping your badge on a legacy (even 20-year-old) RFID reader on the door once it finds your phone in proximity, authenticates your digital identity and detects your intent to enter. What’s new? I have heard of mobile access before or have experienced it in a hotel or at one of the rare mobile enabled modern buildings like the Apple spaceship; you might think. The answer is that the M-Tag has been designed to solve some of the biggest problems with mobile access adoption: ✅ It does not require any wiring! ✅ It does not require any professional installation – It is truly world’s first DIY mobile access product targeted at the office/workplace ✅ It comes with a simple SaaS pricing – the hardware can be completely ‘free’ when signed up with a qualifying subscription contract ✅ Lastly, most importantly, M-Tag does not require any network connectivity. No need for your company IT to give you an IP address, and connect to LAN. If your personal mobile phone is connected to the Internet, M-Tag uses that connect to authenticate and viola, you can open doors to the future of work We would love for you to order a trial device, mount it on the badge reader in your office and show your admin or facilities team how easy it is to set up mobile access. No excuses anymore to be stuck in the past with decades old badge-based identity. So here is the pitch to your company why it makes so much sense: 🔒 Security – If you lose your badge or someone steals it, they can use it to access your office. With mobile access, the access will turn off automatically if the phone is locked or once the authentication token expires. Connect the mobile app with Okta, G Suite or Azure ID for even strong security ⏱ Ease of onboarding/offboarding – No need to wait for a picture to be taken, badge to be printed and to be physically picked up. Think of all the remote hires who have been with the company for months or maybe years but happen to be visiting the HQ city, to visit the office. Large organizations can connect M-Tag with their HR system like Workday, or ticketing systems like ServiceNow to automate even the provisioning of physical access, automatically 🏠 Aligned with the hybrid office trend - Employees who do not come to office everyday are 58% more likely to lose or forget their badges at home. Moreover, with limited or no round-the-clock front-desk admins, it is really hard to let in such employees, new hires or traveling employees. The M-Tag, has got you covered here 📈 Ease of collecting analytics for understanding real-estate utilization – With the M-Tag’s cloud reporting and dashboard, you may chart out physical traffic into the office by day of the week or time of the day. Even better, you get to create automated alerts in Slack to let your colleagues know when you enter the office. The possibilities are endless 🌟 What’s more - for a limited time, we are offering a 60-day free trial on the Oloid M-Tag for our early adopters who sign up through Product Hunt. Also, we are offering the M-Tag hardware completely free of cost for those who upgrade their subscription.

Hey Product Hunters! I’m one of the Co-Founders at Oloid and I’m excited to showcase the Oloid M-Tag; the world’s first self-install mobile access product for modern offices. Snap it on your old legacy RFID reader and equip your PACS with mobile access capabilities. Even before we started engineering the M-Tag, we were faced by an intriguing problem statement: How do we make an existing install base of unsecure, RFID based Physical Access Control Systems, secure? All the while ensuring to incorporate dynamic access control rules that are widely prevalent in virtual access control. The answer is the Oloid M-Tag! The M-Tag is born out of a combination of the deep engineering skills of both the hardware and the software teams, at Oloid, that worked in tandem to develop the product in record time. Every contributor worked on a simple idea of making physical access frictionless for scores of employees, everywhere. We created a simple and easy to use product that converts an existing unsecure RFID Physical Access Control System to a secure access control system, in under 10 minutes of setup time! What challenges did we face on the way here, you would ask? Well, endless. One of the most critical problems was to ensure that mobile phones connect seamlessly with the M-Tag, using BLE, and transfer user credentials in less than a second. Several iterations of the mobile apps and the device firmware made us create the M-Tag. What we have with us today, is a simple snap-on, secure product that supports dynamic provisioning of access control rules using a cloud based platform. Go on, place an order for a trial device. Bringing ‘mobile access’ into your office space is a breeze with the no-fuss, M-Tag. No wiring! No technical assistance! And a simple SaaS pricing. It doesn’t get easier.

Well said @hilal_aydin! I also feel that in addition easing our day to day life, No code platforms also create a level playing field to bring new ideas to life without the need to have the knowledge of programming!
Aman Khanna
@hilal_aydin Rightly said. As I think more about it, the idea of "low friction" extends from the user experience (unlocking doors) all the way to the developer / IT Engineer experience (integration/installation).
