Oku is the companion app for your bookshelf. Track your reading, review & recommend books, create custom collections & follow your friends to receive their updates.
Good morning product hunt :)
Myself, @azizfirat and @yavorpunchev have been working on Oku in our spare time from our bedrooms and now felt like a good time to share.
Originally we wanted to track our own reading lists but also to see our friend’s thoughts & book recommendations too. Oku was built to solve that.
Some features include:
* Track your reading lists
* Review & recommend books
* Organise custom collections
* Follow your friends
* Import your books & collections directly from Goodreads (or start fresh)
* Set reading goals & view stats (premium, coupon code below 👀)
* Install the PWA directly to your phone
I’ve always been kinda interested in tracking and quantifying things. Books, music, sleep, etc. I had been a Goodreads user for years, and it was obvious there were plenty of people like me. The problem is Goodreads is cluttered and chaotic, and has seemed pretty stagnant since Amazon acquired it back in 2013.
Here we are 18 months later, with a name change & some small paid features behind us! We believe that being member-supported is the only way to truly align our interests with readers best interests (opposed to advertisers/Amazon’s best interests.)
Naturally it felt like time to see what Product Hunt thinks, so would love to hear it! Happy to answer any questions 🙂
And if you read this far you should be expecting a coupon code! Try code PRODUCTHUNT at checkout for 20% off all plans.
@azizfirat@yavorpunchev@joe_alcorn There are the top 7 books that I always recommend to friends, from historical fiction to easy beach reads. 📚 😊 I noticed that when my friends recommend some book, more likely I will actually love it. 🤓 I believe you'll get a huge fan base soon🚀
