NOVID

Hey Product Hunt! I'm proud to introduce Novid, the first contact tracing app to be approved on the iOS and Android app stores with does NOT collect personal information (GPS, email address, phone number, name, etc.). Instead, when you're near another NOVID device, they exchange random ID's. Then, if someone self-reports a positive test, anonymized notifications are sent to relevant people: "Someone just self-reported a positive test. During the time they were potentially contagious, they spent at least 15 minutes near you." Especially because people are starting to go back out, we as a society have an extremely urgent need to ensure that COVID-19 does not spiral out of control. NOVID is already here now, and it circumvents the issues that many journalists have reported on which plague other projects in various stages of development. I fear that if we all go back out into society without a scalable form of contact tracing, we will see an exponential explosion of infections which will result in another mass lockdown. With that being said, contact tracing only works if we get a critical mass of users. Please help by giving it a download, and sharing it with your friends!
