Hi PH!
Excited to launch my first "real" product.
I've made a simple interface for interacting with GPT-3 from OpenAI.
That's it. That's the product.
My focus was to make a product with a single purpose, to be used as an interface
Have huuuge plans ahead, but need to see first if there's any demand (market) for this kind of product.
Features:
✅ Minimal interface
✅ Desktop, tablet, and mobile friendly
✅ Questions & Answers history
✅ Powered by GPT-3 engine from Open AI
✅ Visual slider so you know how many QA you have left
✅ Copy generated QA to Clipboard
Here are my goals for this launch:
🥅 280 page visits from PH on day one
🥅 14 new people to try it (Max 100)
🥅 1 new customer 30 days after the launch (3 would be great!)
If you’ve checked the website, do you think I can reach these goals?
And… If yes, why?
And if not — why not?
I'll hang around here if you have any questions...
Thanks!
P.S.
(I’ll report back with real numbers 24h after the launch)

This text was not written by AI, it's just me :)

I've asked GPT-3 to describe this product and this was the result:
"NOLU is an app that allows users to interact with the Open AI GPT-3 engine. The app has a simple interface that allows users to ask questions and receive answers from the AI. The app is free to use and provides users with 50 free QA after signup."

It's free to start, no credit card required
The website is super pretty! 😍 Love the style, really.
I think this can be a potentially helpful product, but it all depends on the quality of the answers.
My concern is “if I ask something and expect a scientifically accurate answer, will it deliver that? And how will I be able to check the accuracy of the response?” Say that I ask “describe the benefits of XX supplementation for muscle building”—will I get a response that matches the scientific consensus, or will the AI ‘draw inspiration’ from pseudo science articles?
It’s nice that you can try 50 questions for free; gives you a chance to reach a conclusion by yourself. But the pricing thereafter seems a little steep to me (don’t know what OpenAI charges for the use of its API though).
I also wonder: what are the limitations of the output? If I ask for a 3 page essay, will it deliver?
@anna_0x Hey Anna, thanks and you're completely right.
The thing I've learned with AI generated text in general is that it depends on the quality of your prompt — or the question you ask. Also, you can get different answers for the same question.
But, in general, most of the answers generated by AI that I've cross checked by Google search turned out legitimate.
Regarding your question, I've just made a query for this question:
"describe the benefits of Creatine supplementation for muscle building"
(Googled "best supplementation for muscle building" and Creatine was on top of the list)
and got this answer:
"Creatine is a type of amino acid that is naturally produced in the body. It supplies energy to muscle cells for short bursts of energy, such as during weightlifting or sprinting. Supplementing with creatine has been shown to increase muscle mass, strength, and power."
This was 2nd run, same question:
"Creatine is a popular supplement for muscle building. It is thought to improve performance and increase muscle mass."
Pricing can be tough when you're entering a new market with a new product. This is why I've added 50 generations for free to see if this product can be useful to you + Product Hunt Exclusive coupon — PH50 — 50% off on all plans for the next 6 months.
Currently, input is set to max 480 characters, and output for the AI completion is set to roughly 360 words...
Hope this helps
