@rrhoover Hey Ryan,
Looks like they set up an account on Vine that and already have almost 100k followers, and 2 million loops. They got a couple of big Viners (incl. King Bach) to record a vine for their account. Guessing that's what sparked the word of mouth for them. Still curious to know more about the how they did it myself.
Newmoji was actually an idea that popped in my head one night at 11 pm. I was so excited about the idea that I went to my computer and stayed up till 4 am playing around with design and functionality.
I wanted to get it out in time for Halloween since a Halloween pack was offered in the app, so the application was put together in under a week. I slept for only s few hours each night and when I was awake I was working non stop on it. A lot of things still need to be improved due to how fast I had to pump it out, so I'm currently working on an update to improve some things I had little time to work on in the first version.
Newmoji was never actually intended to be a hit. Fortunately, someone with experience in advertising reach out to me the day before launch. What's really cool is that not much advertising is done anymore because word of mouth is taking over.
@nickwpete Hey Nick, Great to hear the story of how Newmoji came together. Congrats on getting it out so quickly. It's not easy to pump out a good app in a week.
What kind of advertising did you do for the launch?
