Monitor key phrases added or removed to specific sites: - Look for regulatory mentions on government sites. - Detect mentions of your brand, jobs, or specific tech terms on competitors. We’ll scan entire sites and send you simple change reports each day.
Congrats on the launch, @petebray ! I can see the use cases for monitoring brand mentions by competitors, and references of competing products. Are there other specific use cases you've seen Needle X3 used for?
@tela thanks for the question! As you may know, we have a number of other change monitoring products. We heard from a number of customers there that they're interested in tracking new and deleted general phrases on specific sites. Our change monitoring products weren't a natural fit for this... and tools like Google Alerts and Mention, which are great at monitoring brand terms, are less good at general terms. As for the use cases, they run the gamut: companies looking for, e.g., "CBD" or "reopening" mentions on regulatory pages on gov't sites; competitors looking for specific but general terms, such as "sustainability," on competitor sites, and so on. We do have trouble properly articulating the nuance of our product... and nailing the exact use case. Definitely looking to grow and learn in this area.
I spent a lot of time talking to customers who want to track general terms mentioned on specific sites. This might be a competitor wanting to track a certain tech term; a compliance specialist looking for COVID references on a gov't site; and so on.
Needle X3 scans entire sites. We create a baseline of all references to specific phrases. We then look for new pages that include those phrases. Or pages where they are deleted.
@danielredmond2 good question! Google Alerts is really good at monitoring specific, unique brand mentions. But it's less good at tracking more general terms such as "sustainability" or "covid." Moreover, unless you're a Google Alerts expert, it's very difficult to limit mentions to specific sites. That's where we come in! :)
