Hello Product Hunt, and thanks for checking out Music Vibes. I'm excited about this app - could I tell you a short story that inspired me to build it?
So when Beethoven (yes that's right, the 19th century composer!) lost his hearing, and was faced with losing his true passion - composing music - he made the amazing discovery that if he clenched a rod between his teeth and held it to the soundboard of the piano, he could actually feel the vibrations through his teeth - as music!
Today this concept has a name - "bone conduction" - and when you experiment with Music Vibes you'll be discovering this phenomenon for yourself!
Play and record a song, or load up a preset melody, TURN OFF audio, TURN ON vibrations, and push your phone up against your chin / jaw / cheek - you will actually find that even though these vibrations are bypassing your eardrum, your inner ear can receive these vibrations through bone conduction, and still perceive them as music!
Just like Beethoven, some deaf people with problems with their middle or outer ear can actually perceive sound using this technique!
