Multy is an open source tool to deploy infrastructure to any cloud and switch at any time. Write your cloud-agnostic configuration once and decide where you want to deploy to, Multy takes care of the rest so everything behaves the same.

Hey everyone 👋 I’m excited to introduce Multy, an open-source tool that enables developers to deploy and switch to any cloud - AWS, Azure and GCP for now. ❓ Why are we building Multy? We realised that, even when using existing solutions, writing infrastructure code is very different for each cloud provider. This means changing clouds or deploying the same infrastructure in multiple clouds requires rewriting the same thing multiple times. And even though most core resources have the same functionality, developers need to learn a new provider and all its nuances when choosing a new cloud. This is why we built Multy! ⚙️How does Multy work? Multy is currently available as a Terraform provider. You can write cloud-agnostic code and then just choose which cloud you want to deploy to. Multy will then call the cloud provider APIs on your behalf, so the resources deployed to each cloud behave the same. Current resources supported on AWS, Azure and GCP: - Storage 📁- S3, Blob storage, etc - Virtual Machines 🖥️ - Databases 🗄️ - Kubernetes ☸️ - Clusters and node pools - Networking 🌐 - Virtual networks, subnets, public ips, nsg, network interfaces, route tables - Secrets 🔒 Our goal is to expose any configuration that is common across all clouds, but there’s always specific features that are not available in all of them. For example, if you want a very specific AWS CPU for your Virtual Machine or use a region that is only available in GCP. To enable this, we implemented overrides - a way to configure the underlying infrastructure for cloud-specific purposes. You can also mix cloud specific Terraform code alongside Multy, giving you all the flexibility you need when building your applications. Looking awesome! 🙌 Are you guys planning to support all three major cloud providers from the get-go?

@german_mikulski thank you! Yes, we currently support the resources listed above in AWS, Azure and Google Cloud. For the time being we're focusing on expanding the number of resources supported in these clouds and will consider to expand to encompass other public clouds in the future (DO, Oracle, ...).

Congrats on the launch!!! I thought this was what terraform allow us to do?

@laura_mariana We thought the same 😅 we had spent a year building a stack on Azure and when we wanted to support AWS we realized that there was not a single line of code we could reuse, it was pretty much an end to end re-write! That's why we built Multy, we find that building and maintaining a multi-cloud configuration in Terraform is only possible if you have a big team with loads of expertise!
