Do you have an idea you have spent way too long incubating or a long list of ideas you'll likely never ship? If you answered yes to either question then join us and launch your project within the month.
Hi and thanks for checking out Monthly Makers Club.
What is it and why did I build it? Iām not a community or tech expert. In fact, Iām building my projects no-code (at least until my kids are old enough to go to school so I have more time to learn!).
I personally plan to ship a project a month for the foreseeable future until I find traction with one of my many ideas. Doing it on a monthly cadence works for me because I wonāt spend too long on an idea that may not be a hit with users. The artificial deadline also means I will stay productive.
I have noticed a common theme among indie makers who, like me are challenged by procrastination, perfectionism, fear of failure or imposter syndrome. I figured, if Iām going to be doing this anyway I may as well make project -1 this community and we can build some stuff together.
This is not a money making exercise for me. I am charging a small fee simply to cover my overheads, time and to keep the community spam-free. If itās just me in the community and Iām shouting into the void each month, thatās fine too! Itās an experiment.
That said, I have given some thought as to what I would like as a member and have included those as benefits to anyone who joins.
A weekly alternating sprint cycle of building and marketing (two of each). This way thereās a clear focus each week and you donāt spend too much time on one over the other.
// Masterclass webinars. I have invited a bunch of successful indie makers to share their experience with the group on how they grew their businesses anywhere from $2K to $80K MRR.
// Demo days. At the end of each month, youāll get the chance to present what you have made to the group in a pitch-like scenario so you can get experience should you want to seek investment in the future.
// Live chats. Video calls are built into the platform and you will be able to organise catch ups with the rest of your cohort whenever you like.
// Weekly Goals will be shared publicly so you can benefit from the accountability that comes with sharing these with the group.
There will be a Q&A section where you can ask other group members about what challenges you may have so we can help each other overcome them.
Weāll share our favourite resources for tools, books and podcasts that specifically relate to building a life as a solo founder. Iāll be negotiating as many deals as I can with vendors to secure discounts for club members.
Above all, this is a work in progress and this is V1.0. As a member, youāll be helping shape the community so it can offer the most value to anyone who joins.
Youāre welcome to join for as little as one month or as long as you want to stay. It all depends on how many ideas you want to ship!
I hope this all made sense and I look forward to seeing you on the inside as part of cohort #1!
I have a long list of personal projects Iām itching to build and canāt wait to get started š
