Hi Product Hunt! We are excited to be launching today and would love your feedback. My co-founder and I come from PagerDuty and New Relic where we were early employees in Engineering and Product. Through our work there, we found a problem: Modern apps are built on top of other apps, and when those dependencies go down our software risks going down, but most observability tools focus on 1st party apps rather than 3rd parties. During an incident, we are stuck looking for an answer to the question "is it me or is it them" while incident response drags. When selecting and managing cloud vendors, we are left without a clear picture of the reliability of all the third-party cloud dependencies that underpin our software and our businesses. Metrist offers direct observability of the cloud products that power modern software. Everything from EKS, to Twilio, GitHub, and more. Metrist uses a combination of functional testing and in-app monitoring to paint a complete picture of cloud dependency health, with alerting and enough detail to understand what’s happening, who is impacted, and how. Our value isn’t telling you about major outages. Rather, the depth of our visibility allows us to offer so much more – which you can read about in this submitted blog post that goes into detail about some of the interesting things we’ve uncovered and how we’ve helped our design partners while in beta. Thanks for checking us out, we’d truly love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

@jmartens Neat idea! I hate when stuff goes down and you don't know why. Good thing there's something to make things easier now.

@jmartens 🤩 That's great! Now you can say goodbye to those infuriating delays in getting updates about third-party outages and performance issues.
