I have been working on music recommendations for years, I built my first prototype of music recommender in 2011 during my PhD studies and in 2013 I launched Mentor.FM, a one-click music recommendation radio. We have just introduced a new feature, MentorMood and I would really like to hear your feedback on it. Yet another mood-based selection of songs? Not exactly. Your music taste is quite unique. A song that is "happy" or "energetic" for someone can be boring, or even sad for you, right? This is the idea I wanted to develop when I started to work on MentorMood: context and mood-based playlists are normally too generic, the same lists of songs for everybody; this is wrong, they should take into account your personal music taste. Are you in the mood for energetic vibes? Maybe we could play Flux by Bloc party if you are an indie rocker or Believe by Chemical Brothers if you are into 00s electronic and techno, just to give an example. How the "personalization" work? Mentor.FM creates a first draft of your music profile based on your Facebook account. Then you can import, if you want, your Deezer and Last.FM listening history. There is too much music and only a little of good music. You can't find it on your own. But mentor can do it for you. It will play your favourite songs that you have never heard of.

Pros:

Your own jukebox on steroids.

Cons:

it can't scratch your back, even if it itches badly
