Hey Product Hunt Community! 👋 Super excited to share MemoryPet with you all today! I built this extension because I wanted a fun, lightweight way to keep an eye on my system’s memory without boring graphs, clunky design, or heavy tools. I’ve always loved little touches like RunCat365 on Windows, so I brought the idea to the browser with smoother animations, more customization, and a cleaner look. Now you can have animated characters right in your browser toolbar, running or moving faster as your memory usage climbs. Highlights: - Multiple pets & animations to choose from - Smooth speed scaling based on actual memory usage - Low performance impact (seriously lightweight) - Live sparkline history right in the popup - 100% privacy-friendly I’d love to hear your feedback on: 1️⃣ Which pets or animations you’d like to see next 2️⃣ Any tweaks to make it more useful day-to-day PS: This is one of my first JavaScript projects. I started solo trying to build it on my own, but as the idea grew, I teamed up with AI to push it further than I could alone. If you spot anything odd, I’d love to hear from you! Thanks for checking it out — hope MemoryPet makes your browser a little more fun!

Wait, turning my toolbar into a little animated usage monitor? That’s such a clever twist—I always forget to check my memory usage until my laptop starts lagging. Does it work with multiple browsers?

Veit Voss

@joey_zhu_seopage_ai Thank you! At the moment, it only works with Chromium-based browsers, since Firefox doesn’t provide API access to memory usage. So it should work perfectly with Safari, Brave, and other Chromium-based browsers. :)

Ngl, having a cute pet speed up as my memory goes wild is way more fun than boring old graphs—truely clever idea! Love how lightweight it is too.

@cruise_chen That’s exactly why I built it! :) It even includes a graph for those who love stats. I’ve optimized it as much as possible, since loading the frames very fast can get resource-intensive. I think I’ve found a good balance, though. The animation also goes idle and caps the FPS when the browser isn’t in use, to protect resources.
