I created Marketing Mentors to help new marketers to expand their horizons and get advice from a marketing expert. The idea came up during the current “lock-down” when I was looking for an opportunity to talk with marketing experts herself, either for career advice, growth opportunities, or simply some tips for a job interview. Currently, there are already 14 marketing experts who are donating their time to help mentees during 30-minutes sessions. A mentee can ask a mentor about interview tips, about a mentor’s job or specialization, CV check, etc. If any questions or feedback, please let me know!

@kristina_perovsek Thanks for posting this, I think it's a great idea. I have a few questions that I'm hoping you can help with: how does this differentiate to something like LinkedIn? How do you actually connect the mentors and mentees together - is this automated based on preferences and skillsets? This is something I would have loved in a past life in media/marketing.

Hi Kay, thank you for your questions! The main difference from LinkedIn is that mentors on the platform are open to have a short conversation with mentees, and mentees can directly through the website schedule a session. Therefore all mentors are available, where on LinkedIn it could happen that when connecting with a professional, he/she might not be open or have much time to schedule a 1:1 talk and share their experience. Mentees choose with which mentor they would like to have a mentoring session, so it is based on their preferences.
