We are Jakob and Philipp and we are happy to launch our budget tracking app Marie today. 🎉🥳
Everyone is speaking about inflation and things getting more and more expensive these days. Keeping track of your budget helps, but can be elaborate and complex. This is why we started this project during our studies and spent this summer finishing - "Marie".
There are already tons of budget tracking apps on the App Store, but all we have tried so far didn't work out as expected or had very complex and overwhelming functionalities. Our goal for this app was to make budget tracking as simple and easy as it can be.
# How does Marie work?
1. You scan your bill - Marie does the rest
Tiresome typing of prices and products is now a thing of the past with Marie. Using artificial intelligence, Marie reads all the data from your scans and stores it in the app in a structured way. It couldn't be easier!
2. Never lose the overview again
Not only documenting your expenses is easier than ever with Marie. The statistics help you keep track of your spending and consequently analyze your consuming habits. Your digital budget book makes it possible!
3. And what happens with my data?!
Don't worry, your data remains your data. To ensure this security, all data is not stored on our servers, but only in your iCloud. Of course, this also has the advantage that you can easily check on your iPad which expenses you have made.
# Why Marie?
Marie is not only a typical German woman's name, but quite a few years ago it was also the abbreviation for the Maria-Theresien-Taler, a minted silver coin with the image of the former Austrian Empress Maria-Theresia in the 18th century. It was not long before the name "Marie" thus established itself as a synonym for money in general in beautiful Austria.
