Hey folks! 👋 It’s Ivan here, thanks @benln for hunting us. I’m really excited to share Magic Beans with the Notion community. As most of you, we run our small company on Notion: projects, documents, wikis & more. But finances were our missing piece. They were spread on numerous sheets and clunky accounting softwares. Magic Beans lets you run your finances and invoices from Notion. Here are some things you can do: ✦ 🏦 Connect your bank to get updated balances and transactions (EU-only for now) ✦ 📊 View your finances in beautiful charts you can embed in your Notion ✦ 📋 Create professional invoices from your Notion data you can send to your clients ✦ 🔌 Connect your databases or let us configure everything for you ✦ 🔒 You own your data, everything is stored in your Notion We’ve partnered with Easlo (#1 Notion creator) to bring you the ultimate Business Finance template. Get it for free here and connect to Magic Beans to get superpowers: [https://easlo.notion.site/Busine... We’d love to get your feedback. Happy to answer any questions!

Love the design! Does the graph update live?
Iván García
@sentry_co yes, every time you add new data to your Notion databases all charts are updated. Give it a try and let me know ✌️

@sentry_co @ivan_garcia95 I just gave it a try, created a few demo invoiced and my charts have not updated 🤔

Hey @joshmillgate, charts are calculated based on Transactions database that is separated from Invoice database. Perhaps that could be the case?
Josh Millgate
@ivan_garcia95 Okay this seems very confusing, it appears as though the Transactions database is for business expenses (outgoings), I added a demo expense in the Transactions database for £200 and now my chart for revenue is showing +£200. Shouldn't that be connected to the Expenses chart? My expectations were that: 1. Paid invoices would contribute to revenue chart 2. Expense transactions would contribute to expenses chart 3. Transactions should include both income and outgoings
Iván García
Thanks @joshmillgate, we got a few insights here: 1. Transactions database include both income and outgoings. For incomes you need to use a positive value and for outgoings a negative value. This will update both Revenue and Expense chart accordingly. What it's confusing (we just realized) it's we called "Expenses" to the name field of transactions database. We just replaced for "Transactions" as includes both income and outgoings. 2. Regarding invoices, right now invoices and transactions are not connected. It's only when you connect your bank account, the payment is automatically added to Transactions.
