What do you think? …

If you google "MacKeeper malware" you'll see that this product has a bad reputation and the comments on this post all seem to be fake. Do your research before installing this app.

@new_user_32167f63fd I definitely understand trying to turn the software around but it has many years of doing damage to people's machines (rather than helping them). If the product truly is completely different and helpful it's going to be difficult to change that reputation.

@jpmiller03 i agree - it’s essential to do research before installing any app. If you google just “Mackeeper”you will see more signs of change

@new_user_32167f63fd @jpmiller03 yes, unfortunately it’s hard to change the reputation, but we have a courage. Mackeeper now has a certification from AV-test and notarization from Apple

@new_user_32167f63fd @jpmiller03 John, I understand your opinion, but if you google fresh reviews, you can see how the product changed last years. MacKeeper successfully passed Apple Notarization which means MacKeeper has been checked by Apple for malicious components. We also got AppEsteem certification — the gold standard for app quality and reliability. It proves that whenever you’re using the app, you can be confident that the app you use is acknowledged to be safe, and so is your data. It’s an official confirmation of the app’s legitimacy, which matches the highest industry quality standards. Moreover, we've got AV-Test certification and were rated the highest grade for each category: Protection, Performance, and Usability. We got nice reviews in big trusted media and have good feedback rates. Unfortunately, we can't change our past, but we have done a huge job to turn MacKeeper into a best-in-class product. Please, don't be so biased before you check fresh reviews or even try our product. We are proud to have it as a result of our transformation.

Aloha, hunters! My name is Kseniia, and I’m a Product Manager at MacKeeper. Wow, 2 years ago I did not imagine myself posting this message… I joined the product team right when the company started transforming MacKeeper into the most valuable app a Mac user can have. We had to think BIG! We researched our users more deeply, rebuilt user flows, and developed new features. And today, my team and I are thrilled to introduce to you the all-new MacKeeper 5! Not to brag, but our antivirus now comes with real-time protection as standard - so you can further shield your Mac at no extra cost. What’s more, I’m very proud to say that according to AV Testing, our AV RTP (Antivirus Real-time Protection) will stop 99.7% of security threats before they do any harm to your Mac. And we’ve even strengthened what matters the most nowadays - your privacy and security features (VPN, ID Theft protection, etc). The new MacKeeper isn’t just about the looks (but, oh boy, does it look awesome!). MacKeeper has been undergoing some pretty dramatic changes over the past few years and we’re beyond excited to share the results with you. While we’ve done a lot, there 's even more to come for MacKeeper 5. So, let us know what you think, what is missing, and what should be changed. Byee!

So now PH is featuring scamware. Wonderful times...

@taras_brizitsky2 Not the way @rrhoover created it 7yrs ago definitely. But why mackeeper need PH featuring? Makers Team, you run out of _somewhat_ traffic to attract elderly people to speed up their macs? :)

@taras_brizitsky2 @rrhoover @quser I’m sorry to hear that. Please note that MacKeeper successfully passed Apple Notarization which means MacKeeper has been checked by Apple for malicious components. We also got AppEsteem certification — the gold standard for app quality and reliability. It proves that whenever you’re using the app, you can be confident that the app you use is acknowledged to be safe, and so is your data. @taras_brizitsky2 @rrhoover @vicky_clario Victoria, why sorry, we're on the bottom of your comments and unliked by your bots and no real person will ever read to this :) "Apple Notarization" you calling is a simple Apple Development certificate you can generate by paying $100 to Apple without any problems. It is not a process. And they are not "verifying" out-of-MAS apps for anything. https://developer.apple.com/docu... Never heard of AppEsteem certification, but googled :) https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows... OUCH AV-Test certification: "I officially declare that AV-TEST certification of AV solutions for home users no longer allows product quality to be compared adequately. " https://eugene.kaspersky.com/201... oops. @vicky_clario I understand that this is your job you're being paid for, but it was your own choice (i hope) to work for this product and all its legacy.
Taras Brizitsky
@quser @vicky_clario you may also count me in as a co-worker of one of the competitors, but I'm a Mac user who remembers the old days of both MK and CMM. I do remember old MK marketing, false and misleading promises, corrupt data, unusable macs and asking customers to upgrade while they only wished to get rid of the troyan horse. And 10 years after curious users may (with some effort) still find rather unpleasant stuff about the company, or its marketing. Things have changed, you say, but you're spamming PH the same way Zeobit was spamming review sites years ago and feeding people with the very same bs.
Sergey Kudryashov ✈️
@vicky_clario I’m not in the market to make harm to business or your personal OKRs, but I’m in a market to tell you as a person that you are part of organized scam. Which it is still: you’re saying that product have changed, but company is still buying labels (which ZEO were doing with macupdate - and ruined their reputation and business for example), company changed their name for third or forth time. I was working for a company you’re calling competition but it is not the case: as you’re saying it was 8 hrs ago and there were no Mac antivirus stuff which is in both cases “questionable” and hard to uninstall. And this company haven’t changed their name since 2008 :)
