Lofi and Games is a website where you can play relaxing, casual games like Solitaire, 2048, and Minesweeper. It aims to provide the best gaming experience with a minimalistic and modern design.
Hello, Product Hunt!
I'm Bruno, the creator of the Lofi and Games website. I created it so people could listen to Lofi music and play relaxing games on the browser, like Solitaire, Minesweeper, and Tic Tac Toe. It's a new website, I've developed nine games so far, but I plan to add a lot more.
I also plan to monetize it by adding paid customizations, but I don't know if that would make the site profitable. I can add ads, but they ruin the experience, so I'm avoiding them at this first moment.
What do you guys think? I would appreciate some feedback and monetization ideas ð
@rrhoover Thank you! I want to release more games, but I'm uncertain about what to do next. I have some ideas:
- I'm thinking about adding a leaderboard to a few games.
- I want to add paid customizations, like premium Solitaire cards, premium site themes, etc.
- I could also wrap the site on an app and distribute it on PlayStore.
But I don't know what's the next step. I'll probably add more games first and then decide what's worth pursuing ð
I am a practitioner in the gaming industry for more than 10 years and after visiting your website I would like to give you some advice and questions you need to think about.
1. A free game website or app, without affecting the game experience and visual experience, can be used to generate revenue by adding a clever form of advertising display.
2ãThe current mini-game content needs to add more features to attract people to stay on your website and app.
3. It is recommended that you add more video games that can be shared through short videos to get more users for your website or app.
4ãYour current game content is still very little, so you don't find your content management system is not powerful enough, you may need to gradually improve the current function to be able to manage thousands of games conveniently, when it turns into a content management system, you can greatly improve the management efficiency. Do not neglect the responsiveness of the program, to keep the server low configuration can also be high-performance operation.
5. Now it's the age of smartphones, prioritise adding a bit more firm screen games.
6, the web side you can use cloudflare for global access CDN acceleration to reduce the pressure on the server, but also partly to prevent malicious attacks, to avoid some of the troubles that will be encountered in the development process.
7ãWhen you have enough small games, you need to consider whether you can afford to spend on your server costs in the long run before you have any revenue?
8ãWhen you have enough games, how do you get visitors to stay and keep them playing in your website or app?
9. When you have enough visitors, you need to consider how to increase the length of time they play, only then will you be able to generate a relatively significant income.
10ãHow to strengthen the guidance so that users can actively share to social media platforms or short video platforms.
11ãWhen designing and developing the game, make sure to reserve more than one advertising display space in advance, otherwise you will be very painful to change more games later. For your reference: the bottom banner \loading interface full screen advertising space, restart interface can also increase advertising space.
@windfy Thank you very much for the detailed advice! It's really helpful and thoughtful on your part!
I don't have experience in the gaming industry, so your tips are gold! Do you have any book/article/video recommendations on this topic? I would love to learn more about it!
