👋 Hey Product Hunters! I’m super excited to introduce LocalCan, the macOS app that'll massively simplify your local development process! 🎉 With LocalCan you can develop your apps locally with .local domains and HTTPS! We hear a lot about DX (developer experience) but what about local DX? I realised it needs a major FIX. Here comes LocalCan, a tiny app for macOS! 🔥 Say goodbye to these pains of local development: 😭 No more manual HTTPS certificate creation. 🤕 Forget about remembering port numbers and IP addresses. 🤮 Editing /etc/hosts is not needed 🔫 Fewer surprises when deploying to production With LocalCan, you can now: 🌐 Use .local domains with HTTPS to effortlessly build and test your apps. 🚀 Focus on developing you app, and not on the setup 💸 To celebrate the launch, I’m offering a limited-time discount of -$10 with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Don't miss this opportunity to supercharge your local DX! See you on localhost! 🎈

Big congrats on the launch! You have my vote. Best of luck!

Congrats on the launch Jacek! Just purchased and must say - great work 🎉 Do you plan to support wildcard certificates for subdomains anytime soon?
Jarek Ceborski
@piotrkulpinski Thanks Piotr! Certificates are wildcard already, supporting all subdomains. Support of nested subdomains (e.g. test . www . myapp . local) might come in the future 😉

@jarek_ceborski the app doesn't seem to allow setting wildcards yet. I'd want to set up a *.maindomain.local domain and point it to my app. Is there a way to do that?
Jarek Ceborski
@piotrkulpinski you just need to add a domain e.g sub.maindomain.local. Have a look at the demo I've recorder for this launch in the gallery where I'm adding "www" subdomain

@jarek_ceborski I've watched it, but I'm running a multi-tenant app where subdomains are generated automatically. So I'd need a catch-all subdomain if possible.
Jarek Ceborski
@piotrkulpinski Ah I see! Catch-all subdomains is something to be added to the roadmap 💪 In the mean time you'd need to add them individually.
