Meet LFG 2.0, your Spotify x Pinterest for travel. Discover and share curated 'Placelists' - like playlists for your favorite places. Explore hidden gems, earn rewards, and share your finds. Let's f*ing go!
hello fellow builders! darryl here, cofounder of LFG
it’s been awhile, but i’m very excited to share LFG 2.0! 👉www.justlfg.co
❓what's new in LFG 2.0❓
here's the thing about travel content today:
> social media posts get buried (mm).
> google maps is just... navigation (tbh lol).
> we wanted something better.
we've transformed the experience! think spotify meets pinterest, for travel. our major update: a visual-first interface combining pinterest's eye candy with spotify's personalization.
❓what can you do on LFG❓
a place to discover and share amazing spots worldwide (esp asia).
and create placelists -- like playlists, but for your favorite places (:
on LFG you can 👇
> save spots you love.
> make travel wishlists.
> share hidden gems.
> get real recommendations.
> find inspiration.
everything in one place.
all synced with google maps (because yes, we still need that :D).
🛠 building in public here
would really appreciate any support or feedback. drop a comment or DM if you wanna chat more! always down to connect <3.
p.s. for anyone planning trips to asia. hit me up in the comments. i got some cool spots for you!
@darrylhan Great concept, Darrly! The UI/UX just needs a bit more polishing, remove the distracting elements and let the content speak for itself. It’ll be amazing! Congrats on the launch.
@dineshan_sithamparanathan thanks for the feedback! could you share which elements you found distracting? i definitely have some in mind already, wanted to see if it might align with you!
@darrylhan Your third slide in the Product Hunt launch has a neat design. The main issues are the overuse of the brand color across too many elements and the golden icons. Too many colors, icons, and excessive use of the primary color make it feel cluttered.
@dineshan_sithamparanathan thanks for this - and agreed tbh. optimizing this discovery feed will definitely be part of our next iteration! not as simple as it seems!
Very cool 😃 I have a lot of trouble trying to organize all my travel inspo on Instagram so this could be an alternative! Personally I would like to have a short description of each of the places though (in addition to the comments from users, of course), just to give a better idea if it's a restaurant, bar, club, market, etc and what they specialize in... Perhaps you could pull in that one line description that businesses put on their Google Maps listing. Travel planning definitely needs an upgrade, so I hope you guys succeed!
Thank you! Amazing feedback btw - great idea to generate one-line summaries of all the places. We can probably start by summarizing the Google reviews and other sites, once we get more comments on our platform we can infuse that too :D
