Legacies.RIP MVP

Hey all! With the litany of AI writing tools on the market, we wanted to do something different, and help grieving families and individuals with what can be one of the most daunting tasks conceivably possible: memorializing their loved ones. The average professionally written obituary costs $450 - that’s not ok. Legacies is free for life for individuals and families - our planned revenue comes from sponsors, affiliates, and integration partners who want to run Legacies on their web properties with their own branding (like funeral homes, death doulas, or obituary publishers) Legacies.RIP is built with a combination of GPT-3 (and a lot of prompt engineering love), AWS Lambda, Abyssale for image generation, & SendGrid for transactional emails. There are a couple of other tools in the stack, but that’s all part of the magic! We built this MVP in a single weekend - and it is surely an MVP, we are ironing out the kinks as we speak, but have tested it rigorously & wanted to get it out there to help people sooner rather than later. In the near future, we hope to build out a proper custom frontend to better integrate with AWS, permit more customization, and display output on-site… but we need a bit of working capital before we can really do that justice.
