I love podcasts and there are several shows I've listened to for years (This Week in Startup, This Week in Tech, and Freakonomics are a few of them).
When I discover a podcast that looks promising, I often don't go through the hassle of subscribing because:
(1) it takes effort to open Overcast (my podcast app of choice) on my phone and
(2) I know that I may only listen to one episode before realizing it's not something I'll stick with but often I don't go through the 2 seconds it takes to unsubscribe, leading to a cluttered podcast feed.
h/t Lifehacker's @thorinklosowski for this find (LH article).
@rrhoover I do the same, every few months I realise my Podcast app has thousands of episodes that have accumulated and needs clearing out. This is a great idea for avoiding that altogether.
I'm of course happy to answer any questions you might have. It's kind of a surprise that this got picked up right now. But better late than never, right? Enjoy latr.fm!
This is exactly what I have been in need of. So many times I see podcasts that look interesting or are with a founder that I like to follow but either end up never listening or I subscribe and end up never listening as I already subscribe to way to many:) I see this as a great way to keep up and to test out new ones without the trouble of subscribing. I am trying this right now!
