As a huge horror fan, I think this is a really good idea. There's so much diversity in the genre, and every horror movie doesn't fit every mood or film type. I suggested The Thing and The Taking of Deborah Logan as "Artsy" which I would definitely file under misclassifications.
@fighto Thanks for the feedback! We're planning a feature where you can "flag" a movie as inaccurate if you feel that's the case. "Artsy" is a categorization that we've struggled to name. It's actually meant to measure whether a film feels intentionally high quality, basically the opposite of a B-Movie.
@markbgh Hmm. I'd probably rename it something else, maybe referencing the production quality. There are horror movies I would actually denote as artsy, films with Art House influences like Possession come to mind. There are also movies like Perfume: The Story of a Murderer and Cemetery Man which would fit this bill. I might even place Antichrist into that category.
For me this is a whooooole lot of NOPE! 👻
I am not ashamed to say that I am a massive wimp when it comes to scary movies 🙈 - Put on a comedy or a chick flick (when I'm hungover) any day!
I know, I know, Halloween is coming 🎃 - (again I'm not a big fan) but I know it is a lot bigger in America than the UK.
If I am forced to watch a scary film this weekend, I will use this but if I get my own way then I'll be watching a film showing the classic struggles of a teenager through life that ends happily.
Although there is a funny section that could suit me 😄 - however if I jump once @markbgh then expect an angry hand-written letter! 😜
