What do you think? …

Nathaniel Chen
If someone cut off my hand, would they be able to scan successfully?
Joshua Pinter
@banada Good question. Apparently, it's palm-vein based. So, with blood flow would the veins still scan the same?
Keyo
@banada definitely not! A Keyo scanner only detects hemoglobin-rich veins! So your hand much def be attached to your body lol
Nathaniel Chen
@onlykeyo Sorry if this is a bit morbid, but what if they cut it off and cauterized the hand? Surely that would trap blood in the veins? 👋
Keyo
@banada ugh yeah so morbid! but loving the question lol. So the blood would have to be flowing through the veins. So when you scan your palm with Keyo we detect 5 million points within your palm vein structure, you need all those points to stay intact for the identification to work.
Nathaniel Chen
@onlykeyo That answers my question, thanks! 😆This looks cool.
Joshua Pinter
Curious, is this more or less secure than fingerprints or retina?
Keyo
@joshuapinter much more secure - it's actually the most secure biometric in the market, as it is internal to your body and cannot be copied.
Joshua Pinter
@onlykeyo How does this change over time. I.e. Do you have to "update" your palm scan every 3 years or something? Are the left and right palms totally unique?
Keyo
@joshuapinter great questions! Yeah your right and left palms are completely unique and you can register both with Keyo. We do update your scans from time to time but this is done automatically as you are using it, but it mostly stays the same throughout your life.
Joshua Pinter
@onlykeyo Sounds like you guys have thought of everything! Great job.
Keyo
@joshuapinter hehe thank you! We try to do a lot of thinking. But regardless of how much we think within the team our customers constantly surprise us with amazing use cases for Keyo. It's going to be grand. Have a great night.

what if you have no hands
Keyo
@beenjamemes yeah... we've thought about that. For now Keyo is palm-vein based. But we will launch other biometrics in the future :)

Do you use Keyo?
