Wow, looks pretty awesome! How is KeyCombiner different from apps like CheatSheet or Pretzel that let you see the shortcuts of the active application?

@theyellowpony That's a great question, thank you for asking! KeyCombiner's scope is broader than just looking up the current app's shortcuts. There are many features built around organizing shortcuts in collections and learning and practicing shortcuts. KeyCombiner Desktop's instant lookup is comparable to these other apps. However, I believe it has a few substantial advantages: 1. It works also on Windows and Linux! I believe it is the only tool for non-macOS users that enables this use case. 2. On macOS, KeyCombiner shows also the shortcuts of the current browser tab. For example, shortcuts for GitHub, GitLab, Figma, etc. 3. The instant lookup shows the current app's shortcuts and the shortcuts and text snippets that you have in your personal collections. Personally, I use this to look up regular expressions syntax, text expander triggers, etc. There is a blog post about it: https://tkainrad.dev/posts/app-t... 4. The instant lookup is searchable both by keys and description.

@thomas_kainrad thanks, that was fast! I will try now the instant lookup for windows :-)

Hi Product Hunt! 👋 ⌨️ I used to keep a spreadsheet with all the keyboard shortcuts I knew or wanted to learn. However, this was tedious as spreadsheets are not designed for this purpose. That's why I built KeyCombiner. An application for organizing, learning, and looking up keyboard shortcuts and text snippets. Many improvements and 1.5 years later I am ready to show it to you! 📋 KeyCombiner lets you create shortcut collections, and then you can search through them, practice them, and even share them with others. Creating collections is fast and convenient as you can select and import shortcuts from KeyCombiner's large database of public collections (90+ apps). 🧠 Master keyboard shortcuts in interactive practice sessions. KeyCombiner provides statistics and spaced repetition methods to help you gain insights into your learning progress and maintain your knowledge. Most importantly, it calculates a confidence value for each keyboard shortcut in your collections based on your practice performance. I have used this system to quickly learn more than 400 keyboard shortcuts and text snippets. ⚡️ Instant Lookup: KeyCombiner Desktop can be triggered via a global hotkey to look up the shortcuts of the active application. The instant lookup table is searchable both by description and keys. Works on Windows, Linux, and macOS. On macOS, the instant lookup even shows the shortcuts of the currently active browser tab. 💅 Visualize any set of shortcuts by mapping it onto an interactive virtual keyboard that uses colors to highlight which keys are used with which combination of modifier keys. The visualizer helps to identify conflicts, free combinations, and to design a coherent set of shortcuts. 🤗 Most KeyCombiner features are entirely free. However, to support the product and access advanced features, please consider purchasing a Pro subscription. 💬 I can't wait to see what you think of KeyCombiner. Any feedback is very welcome! Thomas
