Kalah is a strategy game for two players. It is also known as Mancala. Each player has a set of "pits" and a "store." The pits are arranged in a row, and each player has six pits and one store. At the beginning of the game, each pit contains four stones. To play the game, the players take turns making moves. On a player's turn, they choose one of their own pits and take all of the stones from that pit. They then distribute the stones one by one into the subsequent pits in a counterclockwise direction, including their own store but not their opponent's store. If the last stone is placed into the player's own store, they get another turn. If the last stone is placed into an empty pit on the player's own side of the board, the player captures that stone and any stones in the pit opposite it. The game ends when all the pits on one side of the board are empty. The player who still has stones in their pits captures all of these stones and puts them in their store. The player with the most stones in their store at the end of the game wins. Here are the basic steps for playing Kalah: 1.
