IPLocate is an IP address data and geolocation API designed by developers, for developers. It provides accurate and reliable information about IP addresses, including geolocation data, threat and privacy detection, company and ASN details, and hosting provider information. IPLocate's comprehensive, daily-updated data data enables developers to personalize website content, prevent fraud and free trial abuse, enrich analytics data, and apply geographic restrictions with ease.

MaxMind's GeoLite2 has been the "standard" free IP address database for a long time, but it's low quality and often out of date. We've been running our geolocation API with much better quality data since 2017, so we're keen now to be giving back to the community!
A few quick points:
- Databases are available in CSV or MMDB format
- Unlike many other providers, we don't artificially limit the accuracy of this data. It's the same high-quality data we serve in our API
- Databases are updated daily
- We cover IPv4 and IPv6 addresses in the same files here
- CC BY-SA 4.0 license, so there are no usage restrictions, commercial use is fine, just link back to iplocate.io :)
