What do you think? …

Hey everyone, This project started from a really personal place. One evening, I was sitting with my wife and told her I wanted to get a tattoo. Since I’m a total nerd, I wanted something nerdy but meaningful—just didn’t know what. I do a lot of work in online education (I co-run javascript.info) and spend tons of time with sound and video editing software. So, my wife said, “Why don’t you tattoo a soundwave?” That idea stuck with me. But, being a nerd, I thought, “Why stop there? What if I could actually play back the soundwave?” Fast forward a bit—I built an app to make it possible. And my first tattoo? It’s the voice of my daughter at 3 years old telling me she loves me. Now, whenever I scan that tattoo, I hear her tiny voice, and it brings back everything about that moment. I wanted to make it easy for anyone to experience that same connection. With InkStory, you can turn your tattoos into memories that sing, speak, or bring back moments from your life. It’s completely free to install, with generous limits on free usage. You can use Spotify, YouTube, or upload a voice memo or even a family video. Whether it’s preserving a loved one’s voice, a favorite melody, or a moment that matters most to you, InkStory makes your tattoos more than skin deep—they become alive. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

@whatisyourhandle Brilliant idea! Your wife must get the credit :P I hope tattoo enthusiasts discover this app because I know they will love it. I will share this with my brother-in-law; he has two tattoos.

I once heard a news story about a girl who tattooed her late grandmother’s sound wave on her body, allowing everyone to hear her grandmother ‘s voice. I think this is a very meaningful and warm gesture. All the best for your launch! It’s a awesome concept.

@evakk Thank you so much for your support! This is exactly what I wanted to achieve with this project - keeping good memories and feelings. In this era of AI and myriads of productivity tools with aggressive marketing, I wanted to share something personal. I hope some people will enjoy it too. :)
