Indie Watch is an exclusive weekly hand-curated newsletter showcasing the best iOS apps from developers worldwide. Every week, we'll provide you with a sampling of the best new apps, profiles of up-and-coming developers, and the occasional freebie.
I started making iOS apps back in 2015 and fell in love with the process. Even now, seven years later, I'm still having as much fun as I did when I was in my dorm room trying to wrap my head around Objective-C, Interface Builder, and Provisioning Profiles.
Over the years, I've worked at innovative companies like Porsche, Scoop Technologies, and now Turo, but I have always favored the sense of independence and creative expression that came with building your own apps.
As I continued to release new projects, it was always disheartening to see them fail to get traction. Even with the conventional approach of building in public and sharing your launch on Reddit, ProductHunt, and HackerNews, it was hard to compete with creators with established audiences and companies with larger marketing budgets.
Indie Watch is my attempt at leveling the playing field.
The mission is to highlight the accomplishments and creativity of independent developers by providing a platform for them to share their ideas, their passion projects, and their stories.
Every week, you'll receive a sampling of the best indie iOS apps, profiles of up-and-coming developers, and the occasional iOS freebie.
Although Indie Watch is still in its infancy, I hope it will eventually become a place where iOS developers can find useful resources, co-founders, beta testers, and a supportive community as we help one another navigate the world of indie software development.
