Build modern websites right in your browser without giving up on code. Impulse allows you to edit your UI right in the browser while automatically changing your code precisely the way you would do it manually.
@anna_0x Yeah, kind of!
It's not a full-blown editor (e.g. you can't manually edit the code with Impulse; instead, it takes you to your VS Code), but it does edit your code when you make changes to the page.
And yes, it's very tightly integrated with Tailwind! Way more sophisticated and functional than Tailwind's Intellisense extension.
@krogovoy that clears it up, thanks! So if I’m not using Tailwind and React, this would still be useful, right? I just wouldn’t benefit from the suggestions and class grouping.
@anna_0x If you aren't using Tailwind then the class-editing UI is useless. But jumping to the code is still available and useful.
If you aren't using React, Impulse won't work at all, currently, as it uses React-specific ways of figuring out which source code created which HTML elements.
Writing HTML sucks.
I've been making websites and web apps for almost 10 years. As a developer, I've never liked it.
React and Tailwind made it an infinitely better experience for me, but something was still missing. Switching between the code and the browser all the time felt wrong. At the same time, I felt lost with No-code editors because they are made for designers not developers.
I've written about it extensively here: https://rogovoy.me/blog/writing-...
Impulse is my experiment to bridge that gap and make a "design" tool that works directly with my code.
With Impulse, I've come to love web design.
