Hey @wardo, Can you tell us more about iawake and what inspired you to build it? What aspect are you most proud of?
Ward Parsons
Hi Jacqueline - thanks for the leading question! We want professionals to become more productive when working and more relaxed when they’re not working. We help knowledge workers* find their work/life balance. I've heard (and you've heard) so much about professionals burning out, becoming disillusioned, and winding up completely exhausted at work. And how so often people bring the stress and frustrations of work home with them. Maybe it's the European in me, but this is a horrible way to live. We don't need to live this way. We should be able to out-perform at work, and then when we're done, leave it behind so we can be fully present in the other half our lives. In the end, it's about creating a work/life balance. The idea for iAwake Pro started when we noticed more and more professionals using our iAwake Technologies neuroacoustic tracks at work. When we talked to them, they raved about how the tracks helped them focus and get into flow states that made them far more productive at work. They used other tracks to ease back into their lives—to relax and de-stress when they left work. So we thought, hey, this is a classic example of folks adapting technology to solve out-of-scope problems. How cool is this? Going on 8 years now, iAwake Technologies has a deep and loyal customer base in the spiritual and meditation world. I'm really excited to bring iAwake Technologies to a broader audience. And I love working with some of the world's most talented musicians, hypnotherapists, and audio designers. Together, we're trying to solve the common, pernicious problem of imbalance in our work and in our lives. *Who, precisely, is a "knowledge worker"? Hate the phrase - love the idea.
