Why did we build this?

🪟 Bring more pricing transparency to the car market

It's not an easy task today to assess the fair market value of a vehicle. The more used, high-end, or enthusiast-focused the vehicle is, the more this is true.

This is problematic because disagreement on fair value is one of the most common reasons deals fall through and why so many consumers distrust dealers. Before, many buyers relied on KBB to provide a fair value, but that's no longer the case - most likely because the car market has become much more dynamic, so comparatively static KBB values have a harder time keeping up.

We believe a prediction market will be able to respond much more quickly to changing market conditions and help consumers better understand real-time car prices.

🎙 Engage the car community and borrow their expertise

A favorite pasttime of car enthusiasts is giving their opinions on the listing prices of vehicles. It's not uncommon for fiery arguments to occur if two people disagree on fair price.

With Hyper Predictions, we hope to give car enthusiasts a way to put a bit more than empty air behind their convictions. We think it could be quite fun :)

More importantly, we recognize the expertise of the car community. All the data aggregation and AI-based pricing models in the world may not beat a lifelong Porsche enthusiast at valuing a Porsche 930.

We believe the future of car commerce will be a symbiotic merger of technology and community, and we're excited to make Hyper Predictions part of that world.
