Humanly helps users shift their consciousness from judgments, evaluations, and criticisms to the feelings and needs of themselves and others - allowing users to see people as whole, unique, and coequal; helping their natural compassion flourish.
In a time where judgments, evaluations, and criticisms are rampant, and the default orientation towards the world seems to be to label and categorize people as good, bad, nice, mean, lazy, motivated, etc, Humanly helps users shift their consciousness towards our shared humanity - that is the feelings and needs of ourselves and others.
As this shift occurs, users will no longer view people in a hierarchical way, but rather begin to see people as whole, unique, and coequal; allowing their natural compassion to flourish.
This shift is accomplished through 3 methods.
Compassionate Journaling:
Compassionate Journaling in Humanly consists of three steps.
First, users clearly identify their feelings. Traditional mood tracking apps treat feelings as a linear scale from bad to good. Humanly recognizes the complexities of human emotions and guides users to easily identify their emotions from a bank of 300 emotions categorized in a simple, elegant manner.
Second, users are guided through connecting their feelings to underlying needs. Pleasant feelings are signaling a met need whereas unpleasant feelings are signaling an unmet need.
Third, users are guided through describing the stimuli of their feelings and needs in an observational manner, stripped of judgments and agreeable to any observer.
Curated Lessons:
Humanly provides hours worth of free lessons and exercises to help facilitate this shift in consciousness. Lessons draw from the scientific perspectives of Jaak Panksepp, the spiritual perspectives of Buddhism, the philosophical perspectives of Martin Buber, the practical perspectives of Nonviolent Communication, and many more excellent resources.
Insights:
Humanly generates personalized visualizations of users’ mental landscapes. Users can easily monitor how their mood and underlying needs are trending in order to help create informed solutions to improve the quality of life that are rooted in compassionate understanding.
Compassionate introspection can positively transform people's lives. I believe nobody should have to pay for this. As a result, all functionality and content in the app is completely free.
